I took my new 590 to the range the other Sunday. I stepped right up, with a pipe full o' slugs and let 'er rip. I swear, that stock tried to kill me! First it slammed my thumb on the tang into my nose, shifting my glasses, then while the stock was under compression and serious muzzle lift, it shot forward making it extremely difficult to reacquire target. The cheek slap, and cheekbone pummelling was ridiculous...Is it just me or is this stock a very poor design?

I've read one other post here, and there seem to be proponents of this stock, and others who didn't like it were told they weren't mounting it correctly. A friend was with me who had a 590 with a speed feed stock. We all took turns shooting and watching the recoil of each shotgun, and the Knoxx stock definitely had much more muzzle lift, among other things...

Like I said, its for sale...

BTW, this is my seventh shotgun, and I've been an avid bird hunter and clays shooter for many years. I'm pretty sure the pain I"m suffering is not from my technique.

I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same experience...

Thanks Correia. That was what I was looking for. \\

I already bought a replacement stock, I guess the Compstock is just not for me...
