First, my thanks to those who recommended Rafter S gun belt.

So far it's working out well (http://gunsandbutter.blogspot.com/2006/06/gun-fashion.html).

As a follow-up, does anyone have advice on this question? The more salient question now is, should I stick with 1.5-inch width (which affords more stability, I guess) or switch to the more fashion-conscious 1.25-inch width (which looks more "normal" and thus lowers profile)? If anyone has a thought or advice, please let me know.If I switch to 1.25-inch belts, does that mean I have to change my holsters as well? Or can I continue to use holsters with 1.5-inch channels without much problem?

Thanks.

I don't have the exact answer you are looking for, however; I do believe you will be fine with the thinner width on a new belt.

I have one just like yours, although in black sharkskin. I do find it to be a tad bit too wide for some of the jeans I wear.

I will likely be placing it up for sale soon, to help cover the cost of a new belt from Rafter S.

I will stick with Rafter S, simply because for the price, their quality cannot be beat!

Actually, I do have a 1.5-inch width black sharkskin.

So you do think that a 1.25-inch will be practically the same as a 1.5-inch belt?

Why do some folks insist that 1.5 inch is the absolute minimum weight to securely support the weight of a gun?

Maybe it's because I'm a big guy, but only when wearing slacks have I even thought a 1.5" belt might be a little wide.

I use both the 1.5 and 1.25 Rafter belts. Because of the thickness of the 1.25 belt, it is more than sufficient for IWB or OWB. I carry full size 1911's and have had no problems.

Thanks, that's what I needed to hear. I think I might sell all my 1.5-inch gear (belts & holsters), and acquire 1.25-inch gear.

What would you be trying to sell? I absolutely love my Rafter S glock 27 rigs. 1.5" belt, IWB (w/ shark trim), OWB, mag carrier. Excellent quality, affordable, and great customer service.

Before I sell, I will likely try a 1.25-inch belt and see how it feels.

How do you like Rafter S holsters (I only have the sharkskin belt)? How well do you think they compare to Mitch Rosen or Milt Sparks?

All of the quality without the price...however, limited styles to choose from. IWB or OWB. Nice stuff though.
