This is their price on CCI Blazer. You can still buy it at Academy for 4.84 a box.
Go to the Wally World and you can find 115 gr Winchester for 4.63 a box.{ I just bought all 9 boxes the had in stock earlier today} I buy all they have every time I stop in.Gets me funny looks from the receipt checker :neener:

I've bought a few things at CTD, but not ammo. Never found a deal good enough to make it worthwhile. I'd rather support the local gun shop even if it costs an extra buck a box.

I just don't consider Wally World an option. The closest one to me has the worst service ever. I finally quit going there for anything.

I just bought a Becker combat utility BK-7 knife there for a good price and it looks to be a sturdy survival or camping knife..I think it was $34.97, well anyway it's on their website..........

I buy guns, cleaning supplies, personal defense and hunting ammo at my local ,privately owned gunstore.
Wal Mart is a painful evil I must endure to be able to afford to train properly. At 92.60 per thousand{ before taxes} , I can afford to put 2-300 rounds downrange a week{ plus another 500-1000 .22's}

I'm no fan of CTD, mail order or retail. In fact, their retail store is one of the worst gun stores I've ever visited.

I must be in a minority, though, because their parking lot is always jammed.

I've bought a ton of ammo from CTD over the years. Never had a problem with them. Sometimes they get beat on price by a few cents here or there, but their selection is better than your average website, shipping is pretty quick, and the one time they screwed up on order (for a holster) they shipped me a replacement with no issues and no questions asked.

Of course, I don't buy mil-surp ammo (or guns, for that matter) like a lot of you guys do, so that might have something to do with the difference in preference.

I bought some airgun related stuff from them and pretty good prices, but the shipping took way too long. Almost 3 weeks. Also if you buy ammo from them you have to send them a copy of your ID or drivers liscense. I wouldn't send info like that through the mail or email it to them online.

Incorrect. I have purchased both accessories and ammo from cheaperthandirt.com. Admittedly, their prices are not usually the best, but they do not have any whacky ID requirements.

I wouldn't send info like that through the mail or email it to them online.
On the other hand, what would it matter if they did ask? (aimsurplus.com does, for example.) I grabbed my digital camera, took a "close-up" shot of my license, used irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com) to chop the size and space down, then cut out my DL number (can't see why they'd need it, even though it's not really something I care overmuch about) and the picture of my signature (something I do care about keeping to myself). Easy, and simple, and the only two bits of information they get from the ID that they wouldn't get by just asking for my billing address is my picture and my date of birth. There is no SSN printed on my driver's license.

I used CTD to price check that's all. Bought most of my ammo from Sportsmans Guide, but now that the French own them, I'll be buying in bulk from my local gun store, he can get some good deals.:D

Midway has a better price on ammo than Cheaper Than Dirt for everything I've ever compared, especially Wolf.

I used to but lots of stuff from CTD, but stopped once I realized they don't ship legal "Assault Weapon Gear" to California. Californians have enough problems from our own gov't, and it ticks me off to have private companies go beyond even that: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=193664
