You know, I have to hand it to President Bush. Despite the flak he gets from the media and the "Bush bashing" that is currently fashionable the guy keeps to "the mission".
Despite some events that demonstrate just how in a bubble he is you have to hand it to the guy. He doesn't vacillate.
I could go off on criticism but that is not the point of this thread. He is a smart guy. No, he is not brilliant. Few people are anyway. Besides, brilliance has its drawbacks too.
A good estimation of the man is just looking at his wife Laura. The woman is a fine first lady and I am glad that she is the first lady.

I'm not bitin' *that* bait Jesse, but I will take exception with your "Rule #2":

I've never aimed a gun at anyone when I was feelin' all friendly and stuff.;)

I compare Bush to a competent squad leader. He isn't a deep thinker, nor terribly imaginative, but he knows what's important in context, and more importantly he can make a decision.

Contrast that with Bill Clinton. I can only think of ONE squad leader I ever had under me who wouldn't have made a better president.

Although I disagree strongly with President Bush on a few things, overall he's done a pretty credible job considering everything. Maybe not brilliant but no dummy either and he deserves more credit than he gets. Some people seem to forget the actions of our "honorable" Senators and Representatives!! And at least we don't have a President that crawls on his belly with his shotgun when stalking deer!!

Don't confuse stubbornness with resolve.

I believe Bush will be remembered--and not favorably--as the evangelist of globalism in our times. Unfortunately, not all gospels are good tidings.

Only 36% of the population, in 1775, was in favor of the American Revolution. Glad the minority won that also:)
