I'm customizing a Springfield GI and am wondering about a MSH with magwell. I like the Ed Brown, but don't know if you can just drop in a magwell, or if I need to have a smith do it. Can anyone opine on this? Or, if there is an MSH with magwell made by someone else that is drop in, please let me know. Thanks.

Here are the devices of which you speak.

You can use theirs:

Plus they sell these:

I know because I was thinking about adding them to my 1911 but decided not to since I want it for CCW.

I use the Smith and Alexander models. They drop in, but I blend the bottoms for the maximum effect.

I've gotten good results from the Wilson MSH/Magwell combo in my SA 1911 GI.
