I was looking at the 180 Grain Plate Rainier bullets, and wondering what the majority use. I will be feeding this threw my Glock 23 with a KKM barrel... Please list your set up you use it threw and what your likes and dislikes are about these bullets.... Thanks

I used rainier round nose profile fired off 200 they worked flawlessly. was thinking of getting some truncated but they cost so damn much I would rather buy real jacketed bullets.

use a Steyr M40 and S&W 40ve never had issue with either both have good chamber support. though they may not be as tight as a KKM barrel I dont know.

I used Rainier .400 155 gr TCs for quite a while. I've loaded maybe 4 or 5 thousand of them as a guess. They were pretty good over all. The lead in them is soft so I don't try to push them too hard. Accuracy is nearly as good as my 165 gr XTP loads but not quite. Maybe opens the group up half inch to an inch at 25 yards.

Lately I've been picking up Berry's because I can get them cheap at the local Cabela's and don't have to shell out for shipping. In .400 I've only tried the 200 gr out of my 10mm at about 1000 FPS but I'm happy with the results. Seem as accurate as the other bullets I've tried in it.

I've also tried their 185 gr SWC and 230 gr RN .451 bullets in 45 ACP. These were noticeably less accurate than the MagTech Guardian Golds, XTPs, or Winchester 230 gr RN in my CZ 97B. Also, I couldn't get the SWC to feed for bumpkis. I'm going to give their 200 gr SWC a change because it's a less radical shape. I doubt accuracy is up there with the other bullets but they're way less expensive so if they're "good enough" I might end up just using them for steel plates. I also like them for steel because the soft lead doesn't ricochet as bad.

Edit to add: Shoot the Rainier 155s primarily thrugh my Glock 24P, everything else through my CZs (85 Compact and RAMI) as well as the 24P.

I bought a batch from Houston Cartridge Co a few years ago and loaded up several thousand rounds over red dot powder. They were the cheapest I could find around here. Work perfectly in my Glocks and Steyr. Not a hot load but a fun to shoot/training load. My carry load is 135 gr hp so it is pretty close for practice.......I have shot pigs with the 135 bullet and I know how it performs....I am not concerned with how dirty/smokey a powder is........chris3

I also do the Berry's bullets, but for 10mm. They're just as cheap JHP and fmj. I use either 135gr or 180gr, depending how big a "cool" factor i want in terms of a fireball. New shooters tend to "oooh" "aaahhh" like its July 4th.

I have run 4000 Rainier RNFP through my 2011. The Flat nosed rounds chambered just fine, but the round nosed flat points chambered smooth as silk so I continue to shoot those.

I prefer hollowpoints and use Zero jacketed 180's.
