I have a 1st Gen Model 17 Glock with the non-captured recoil spring and guide rod. The rod was getting a little dinged up where it sits under the barrel so I ordered an AroTek solid stainless non-captured guide rod from Lone Wolf and will use the factory recoil spring as it still has alot of pop in it. The rod came with a small washer in the package that looks like it might fit on the front of the recoil spring and sit inside the lug at the bottom of the front of the slide. Does anyone know if I need to use this washer or just place the recoil spring inside the lug under the slide w/o it. Thanks:)

I use a guide rod of similar design, but different manufacturer in my G17. Yep, the washer goes on the muzzle end and is retained by the screw. Might want to use a little blue Loctite on that screw.
