UN Gun Ban Poll on CNN

I found this on another forum I belong to, and think it's important to get the word out.

CNN is running poll: "Do you believe the U.N. is trying to outlaw gun ownership in the U.S.?" The poll can be found in the lower right hand side of CNN's home page.

You should all vote in this! Show CNN and the turds at the UN exactly how the U.S. feels about it's constitutional rights.

Thanks!

When they have an influx of people coming from the same website, they know people are trying to stack the poll.

The UN conference chief said yesterday that there are no plans to reopen the 2001 agreement to expand it to include domestic gun controls.

The conference chief says this NOW, after IANSA declared almost 30 days ago that their 700 delegates (out of 2000 total at the conference) would be pushing to reopen and expand the agreement for the purpose of including domestic gun controls.

The 2001 agreement does not include domestic gun controls because the US vetoed the attempt to put them in the agreement.

Ah yes, the“U.N. Conference to Review Progress Made in the Implementation of the Programme of Action to Prevent and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects,” brought to us by the same folks who illegally imported HK MP5 submachineguns into the USA to protect Kofi Annan's hide. :cuss: The UN can say what every they want.....sadly for them Rebecca Peters has already pretty much explained the agenda of her group and the others who pushed for this conference. The goal is clear as can be.

Another reason to drive that worthless debating society from our shores.....

Here is the latest comments from the NRA.

If you compare the numbers with the totals I posted earlier, you can see they have increased. The percentages have remained the same. Seems a little fishy, but I'm not ready to cry foul yet.

I don't know, I think something is fishy. I have three seperate computers here at work. I voted seperately on all three by typing in the URL manually and voting "Yes".

While the "No" count changed over the period of several minutes I took me to go to all three systems and vote, the "Yes" count never changed even though I voted "Yes" three times.

Well I think for a CNN poll which is usually very liberal the 40% is significant. I mean think of it 40% and there are a majority of people out there who know nothing about what is going on within the UN. Plus I am glad the UN did notice and was not happy about my little card they received...:D

Phetro
June 22, 2006, 02:04 PM
Still 41% to 59%. They're stacking it from the other side. Most CNN visitors are also socialists anyway, who would gladly see the UN gun ban come to fruition, so don't be surprised that they rig the polls in their favor.

Remember, it is the stated purpose of Rebecca Peters and IANSA
to use the UN Conference on illegal traffic in small arms and
light weapons to enforce an Australian style ban on US private
gun owners.

To the antis, all illegal guns started as legal at one time;
therefore, the cure to the illegal gun problem
is ban legal guns.

I right-clicked and refreshed the results screen before and after voting YES.

The results did not show my vote right away.

By the time I finished my email to cnn suggesting a possible problem with the voting feature, about 70 votes had been dumped into each.

41% YES to
59% NO

27,187 y
38,926 n
------------
66,113 total

note- the poll is on the story page titled :
NRA unloads on U.N.
can use search function, (select cnn site) to find it
or cut and paste the already mentioned address

OK, a few minutes later the vote shows:

~3:20 PM EST
27,238 Y (Up 51 votes from last check)
38,940 N (Up 14 votes...)

3:32 PM EST
27,294 Y (up 56)
38,955 N (up 15)

3:47 PM EST

38,971 (up 16)

4:03 PM EST
27,415 Y (up 63)
38,987 N (up 16)

The clown they have as the spokesman clammors about not effecting legally held guns. Yeah, ok. All you have to do is pass a law making a sportsman's gun no longer legal to own, and THEN it effects him and his formerly legally owned gun.

If you're not doing anything illegal, they make it so that what you are doing, is illegal.

I know. Try running a piece of tin foil over the mouse when you click in your vote.

Then, CNN may eventually register your vote as one from the darned "tin foil hat wearing nut cases" like I have been labeled, every time I warned anyone who would listen over the last twenty five years that indeed, a "New World Order" is coming and the United Nations thugs are slowly establishing their founding of that entity.

But sure enough, all the gung ho, mom, dad, apple pie believers will get after someone trying to point out, gun confiscations have already happened here previously, and they wil say once again "That couldn't happen in the U.S."! "Nobody will stand for it!" "Why, I'll...I'll...."

And if you point out we all stood around (and the victims are still standing around in New Orleans waiting for that idiot Nagin to finally quick defying the Judges Order to return the guns they confiscated (which can't happen in America)

But it is all okay, since 59 percent of the poll results show that the majority of CNN viewers and listners don't think the U.N. is wanting to confiscate guns from Americans. Funn that can be though when you simply listen to the U.N. Gun Banners promises, that that is exactly what they are doing.

Oh well, let's all go about our business. Nothing to see here. Everyone go home. Everything's fine.

Yes, exactly. I didn't check back later, as others on this thread did, so I didn't see the subsequent change of numbers.

Note that many polls like this simply get pulled if the numbers start going in the opposite direction to that desired by the poll takers. Simply not counting the "Yes" votes seemed like a new variation on that theme.

Many of these types of polls only tally results every few minutes. Let's not be so quick to assume they might be cheating. I wouldn't put it past them, but there is plenty of room for reasonable doubt.

One of the frustrating things about this is that the CNN question is a straw man. No one is claiming that IANSA is trying to ban ALL guns in the United States. Just all handguns, self-loading rifles, and precision rifles with nontraditional styling, as in Australia.

By wording the question in this way, CNN is actively trying to slant the debate. The question isn't whether the UN conference would like to ban ALL guns in the U.S., but whether or not the UN conference is advocating ANY additional controls on currently legal civilian firearms in the U.S. The answer to the second question is quite obviously yes.

This - and current cited artcles in related threads - is the first stage in yet another familiar pattern. This is the "fielding the idea" stage of the m.o.

This is where it is tossed into the open to be kicked around for general exposure. The next stage is the "debate" stage, where the questions like "Should the U.N. ban firearms ownership ... " are entered, where the "subjectivity" is introduced and applied and the lines drawn up.

No what they are going for is a complete blanket gun ban. No air guns, no pellet guns, no firearms, no muzzleloaders, EVERYTHING.

That rebecca peters witch has said it herself. Any gun that can throw a projectile past 100 meters should be banned.

Guess what? Most pellet guns and all .22LR rifles and pistols can do such a feat.

"...Do you believe your so-called Representatives in Congress and your President would respond in any manner whatsoever, against the United Nations troops if the United Nations sent in "peace keepers" to confiscate your means of self defense against tyranical government?"

It would be scary to see the results on that one.

The NO's are staying steady, but the YES's are slowly advancing with just a smidgen over 2K left to go for at least a tie. I thought we would have advanced more than we have by now, seeing as we seemingly have a window of opportunity to get a 2nd wind (no pun intended) and overtake them to show CNN what the USA thinks of the UN folly. Kind of depressing, but I'll continue to vote daily until they pull the poll.
