Okay, I'm trying to figure out the name of a TV comedy sitcom I watched back in the late 80s - early 90s? also the main character carried a really long 8 3/8" barrel? nickel or chrome plated revolver with pearl handle grips. He was a cop or detective at the show and it was a comedy. He was a bit clumsy at times too and always used cheesy lines.

Anybody know the show's title and what revolver he used?
