What is the going price for a new Colt 1911 Series 70 pistol with blued finish.
I found one for $999 at the local gun shop and I like it but I'm not sure if this is decent price.

Just a year ago you could find them new all day long for under $800 shipped. Lately I've noticed the average prices are higher, but I still think you could at least get one around $800 new if you look. DEFINITELY can beat a grand, so don't go that route. Especially plus tax.

In fact... there is a new one on gunsamerica right now for $750 (plus $30 shipping). But its guns america, ymmv.
