Danu, the Indonesian exchange student, is returning to his country next week. One of the things he wants to do, before he goes home, is shoot handguns. I told Danu I would take him to the range on Sunday and I am seeking advice on what to take. I know I will let him wear my electronic earmuffs so he can hear commands, I have safety glasses for him, and I will watch him like a hawk. I have every caliber from 22 Short to 44 Mag. If you were I, what handguns would you take? Remember, this is a once in a lifetime chance for Danu to experience shooting. Thanks and regards, Richard:D

Some kind'a .22 caliber plinker, a 4" barrel .38 Special or .357 magnum,
the .44 magnum, a 9m/m, and of course a .45 ACP. :)

Have to agree with Dan's response. Start with the 22, 38, 9, 45, 357 then finish up with a few 44 unless he wants to shoot more of them. Extremely nice of you to fulfill the guy's once in a lifetime wish. It will also be a lot of fun.

I agree with the start small but bring a "hand cannon" crowd.

We occasionally get guys from Singapore and Japan all the time here at work. They love to go shooting and we gladly take them. One thing they all have in common, they want to shoot the biggest, loudest, most punnishing hand gun the can get thier hands on.

They giggle like school girls when they shoot these monsters.

Once he gets used to shooting, give him a few of the 44 mag. He will love it.

If it is allowed, give him one of each round he fired to take home (in checked bags) as a souvenier (sp?).

Take em all...

and let Danu sort em out.

That's great. :D

I agree with the other posts, keep building em up as long as he can safely handle em.
