In North Carolina a bill has been introduced that will allow the holder of a Concealed Handgun Carry permit to purchase a handgun without having to acquire a permit to purchase a pistol. Makes sense to me. It is House Bill 817 introduced on April 01. It has been referred to committee for study.

Let's hope this passes, but I am not holding my breath.

You need a permit to purchase a handgun?

If I ever leave TN, it will be only to go back to KY. ;)

Like NJ. It's essentially state level de-facto registration.

All a NC permit is is a pre-done federal and state background check.

The check is done when you apply. Permit is good for 5 years. Carry it around with you. Fall in love, whip out the permit, pay the tab, and go shoot it. No waiting.

It ain't that bad.
