SInce I have only a full size Colt 80 series I would to ask if the Champion is as accurate as the 5 incher. Planning to get the SS Champion someday for CCW. How hard are these to get nowadays? Are these in short supply and where to buy in the internet you know who has the best low price.

Thanks

I have a SA Champion in SS. My wife keeps it in her nightstand. I rarely shoot it because it is the only SA .45 I own that gives me hammer bite on the web of my hand. Otherwise it is a nice piece. Accurate and no FTF.

My wife actually bought it used but in excellent condition from her boss as a Christmas present for me years ago. There has probably not been 100 rounds through it. They are nice but to heavy for me as a CCW, just my opinion. I like my Glock 27 or P32. I think she paid around $450 or $500 for it.

I cannot answer your questions about availability and pricing for the SA Champion but I do have a copy in Stainless.
I do not shoot my Champion as well as I shoot a 5" model or my Commander model. I believe most of this is due mostly to the short sight radius and somewhat to the finish/tightness of the gun.
Although the Champion is not as accurate as my other 1911's it is no slouch. It will still fill a 4" group at 50 feet with some effort on my part.
I use mine a a carry gun and believe it is more than up to the task.

Perhaps someone will ring in to answer your other questions.

Regards
