That "American History" bit is the best reason for owning one of these fine firearms, IMO.

Does anyone happen to know what documentation i need to be able to walk into the CMP store, pick out my garand, and have them ship it to me when the paperwork clears? I know i need to join a club, but I heard that they offer on-site membership to the Garand Owners Association or something.
I couldn't find the info on the website.

I haven't heard of on-site joining of GCA, but joining GCA doesn't take that long. There are other qualifying clubs you can join, as well. There's a list of affiliated clubs at the odcmp.com website.

Other than that, take a look at the application. That's what you'll need.
