Been doing some web-spelunking and found a few things.

Both are from the Vietnam era.
Field rations tasting a little bland? Try the Tabasco Company's C-Rat Cookbook (http://www.1stcavmedic.com/tabasco_cookbook.htm)!

And the second thing? First Cav Medic Radio (http://www.live365.com/stations/170834)

Enjoy!

Awesome,

I have become an absolute tabasco addict thanks to MRE's. Thank god for those little bottles of spicy goodness that come in (nearly) every meal.

With a little work a lot of those could be finagled to work with todays MRE's if you have a couple friends willing to pool their meals.

That script is:

Kaaf Alef Faa Ra and is prounced roughly "Kafir" with a rolled r.

It does mean infidel.
