I found this board, quite by accident, less than a month ago.

I was looking to get some pros and cons on buying either a 10/22 or a Marlin Model 60 (The Marlin won)

Now I come home every night after work at about 0330 and check the board for new info, I just sent off for my C&R license, and I'm working on a presentation to the spousal unit on why I REALLY need a nice Yugo SKS

I am possessed......

My justification for a Yugo SKS had something to do with collectability and it's value 20 years from now. I then compared it to shoes on sale.

After 25+ years of marriage, I have tried the collectors value argument. Compared to shoes on sale argument. And even used the excuse, "it followed me home" once, and only once.

I have not heard some of the words that woman used since the Marines..........

Welcome to the club!

After a long protracted effort to convince my sig other I needed a "collectable" U.S. GI 1911A1, you should have seen the stink eye I got this week when I said I was thinking of selling it to fund my .223 project. In other words, the 1911 stays. :D

But the .223 is going on "lay-away" ;) as of my lunch break.

I like to think I'm building a representative collection of the important firearms of the 20th century. IOW, everything from a Mosin-Nagant to a G36 can be rationalized by this method.
