Ammoman has Wolf .45 for $110/500rds which is about .22 a round. Are there any other, cheaper places to get practice ammo for cheap, shipped? Gun shows aren't really an option, and the local walmart doesn't carry WWB.

zahc, there is a gun show coming up July 7-9 at the Fairgrounds. There is a Miwall dealer there that usually has some good deals. I was getting 1K of 9mm reloads for $89, not sure if that has gone up recently. I'm sure they will have some .45 there.

Sweet! I'm totally going. I'm not so sure I'm okay with the idea of buying reloads unless I know the reputation of the person or company that reloaded them. That sounds pretty risky to me.

I've been shooting the Miwall stuff for the last 4 or so years, usually buy 1k at every Gunshow, I have never had any problems.
I will be going to the show as well, if you want to meet up let me know.

Check http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ Not always the dirt-cheapest, but close. And good selection.

www.rozedist.com for Zero reloads and new manufacture. I've used their .38's and .357's for years.

This place has LE rejected Gold Dots for like .24 a round with the shipping added. Too bad they don't have any in stock. LE reject bullets over the smallest details. It is a good deal on a quality bullet and would allow you to practice with an almost exact duplicate of your carry ammo (provided you have a .40 and use Gold Dots).

However, I wouldn't rely on this ammo for defensive purposes.

I just got a great deal on .380 (Magtech) from www.sportsmansguide.com. The price was already great but then they also sent me a $10 coupon just for signing up to receive email specials. I'm not sure what their .45 prices are.

If I remember correctly, Cabelas was offering 500 rounds of .45 ACP Wolf for $88, shipped.

The .45acp I really like from Miwall are their loads using the 200gr H&G #68 LSWC. It's been very accurate in every pistol I've tried it in.

I have shot tens of thousands rounds of their ammo in over a dozen calibers in umpteen different styles with ZERO problems.
They produce reloaded ammo as well as new production.
In new production they primarily use Winchester brass although I have bought some made with Remington.

The last two boxes of .357 reloads I bought were actually loaded with virgin Winchester cases which means they were not reloads at all. And at $8.25/50 I consider that a good deal.

Having said that, some of their offerings can be a little sooty. But it wipes off easily and I'm willing to tolerate it for the savings.

Another advantage of dealing with Miwall, especially in my area, is that thay also carry name brand ammo at deep discounts.

I recently bought some of the new Wolf Gold .357 158gr JHP from them and it's a real thumper. And at $8.50 per 50 it's also a damn good deal.
In fact it's what's loaded in my .357s right now.
It's made in Serbia by Prvi Partizan and like most PP ammo it's not wimpy.
Touch a few rounds off in a 2" and people at the range will take notice.

Along the lines of this thread (it's definitely pertinent), who makes the "hottest" bulk .45ACP. When I say hottest, I mean non +p but still comes close to "defense load" velocities. I've heard Fiocchi is pretty "hot" but how does it compare to Miwall, etc?

I gotta say I've been very happy with my SASS ammo from ammodirect.com.

I update this list (http://community.livejournal.com/guns/826241.html) as I get information.
I try to keep this updated. I will move a supplier from 'unknow' to 'known' with enough comments. That is for service not price.
