Hello Everyone,

How close is the point of impact of the various high pressure 10mm Auto loadings at 25 and 50 yards?

As a rule, the 10mm ammo I use runs from DT 135-grain JHP on the light side to the DT 180-grain JHP & FMJ on the heavy side.

I am debating between putting either fixed sights (i.e., Novak, Hienie) or adjustable (i.e., BoMar) onto a Glock 20 and full size 1911 I am having built to my specifications.

Would you suggest fixed or adjustable sights?

For what use? For a range / target gun get adjustable then you can fool around with whatever loads you want. For a carry gun I would recommend fixed low profile and find where your preferred load hits and stick with it. I would not carry a gun with adjustable sights for self defense. If you are talking about 25 - 50 yds sounds like target sights to me. Generally heavier bullets will hit higher at close range. How much depends on a lot of things. I don't consider 25 - 50 yds with a handgun "close". If you are thinking dual use or even if you are not, you might consider lasergrips with fixed sights. You can learn a lot about your shooting with that little red dot and they are easily adjusted and stay where you put it.
