I would like to rig out a Remington 870 20ga. with a Ghost sight set-up... My question is can you do a Vent-rib barrel??____...
I want to find an older Wingmaster for this purpose...
Can you remove the factory Bead on the vent-rib & silver solder on the Ghost front sight....??_____...
I know that MCM makes a Ghost for the 870...
Would I have to find a deer barrel for the Ghost?____...
I am not wanting a HD set-up but for clay shooting & hunting...
Thanks in advance,
Bob

My 870 Super mag from Vang Comp has ghost ring sights with a vented barrel. The nice looking way Hans does it, is to solder the rib into the front sight so it looks like a seemless transition.

Maintz-
Sorry, I missed this the first time around.
Yes, you can do it. My work 870 is done this way. My 'smith cut the sight base to fit around the rib. The sight is pinned to the rib & soldered to the barrel. I'll try to get a photo later.
It works real well for me and (I think) has a cool factor as well.

Han's work
Check out the ventilated rib! MMC Front Sight matches perfectly.
I need to do something like this soon. I am going to be taking a couple shotgun classes within the next year. My first impluse is to just order one from Vang, but I have three shotguns sitting here. But, I will probably still end up buying one from Vang.
