Hi, i am going to buy a Express Super Magnum in 12 Gauge. I am still decicing on barrel length. Will 26" be sufficient for trap, skeet, etc.. Or should i stick with the 28"

I'm a short barrel fan myself---I don't care for the long-tom barrels----too long and ungainly.

4 shotguns that I own

1 -18.5in
2 -24in
1 -26in

Mostly personal preferance on what you feel comfortable shooting.

My guns range in barrel length from 18.5 to 32" and each has a role to play. What matters isn't barrel length as much as balance and feel. In some guns a 24" barrel is ungainly while a properly made set of light 32" barrels are a delight to swing.

I like the 26" barrel on the Express because it has the right balance for me. Try one of each and pick the one that feels best in your hands.

Paul nailed it. Strictly a personal preference thing.

I was going to get a 26" barrel for Frankenstein, but have decided on the 30" LC. Reason, I've lots of short barrels here. I'd like to compare and contrast what's different between the long tube and the bunty li'l 21" one.

And, the guys I do an occasional snow goose shoot would love a long barrel beside them in the blind. Comments of the short barrel's blast have not been favorable or complimentary...
