I picked up my new Marlin 1894 in .41 Magnum this morning.
I've only had a chance to look at it and work the lever a couple of times, but it seems like a very nice carbine.
The forend and pistol grip are checkered and the stock wood has some figure. The bluing is nice and even the buckhorn iron sight seems to work OK with my aging eyes. I have a bunch of .41 Mag ammo stored up and may make it to the range tomorrow.

If you want one of these Marlins in .41 better get it now. My dealer said he was told they will only be produced in May and June this year.

Man, I wish they made them based on the 92 action instead . . . :(

Erich, IIRC, doesn't one of the Italian or Brazilian copies do that?

Rossi (Brasilian, founded by folks of Italian descent!) make 92s (Pumas, whatever), but not in .41. (At least, I don't think they make them in .41)

Heck, I should just be glad I don't feel another burning need to throw away money right now.

Next month my wife will give me a 25th anniversary gift. (I think it's even hidden in our house, however I can't even find my jeans in this house so there's NO chance of me finding my new rifle!) Mine is going to be an 1894C, 18.5 inch barrel, chambered for .357 mag. Marlins are NICE! Take your new 1894FG to the range then come back and POST! I want to READ about it! Those pistol grip beauties are (~a little) nicer looking than the straight grip models. I almost went with one myself.

Way to go!

Grew up shooting a 39 Mountie. So the straight grip looks and feels right to me. Have 3 39’s and a 444P. I keep hearing the 450 calling though. So far I’ve resisted the urge.

When they start calling like that it's best to just give in and buy. Pretty soon you'll start hearing the calling in your sleep. If you don't buy then, you'll get an ulcer. If, after the ulcer, you STILL don't buy, you'll be posting from the hospital! :D

You are one lucky guy. Enjoy that .41 Mag !!! That should work as well as my 1894S in .44Mag, for heavy cover Whitetail hunting.

Cool ACP230,

Don'tcha love lever action rifles? Do you have a Ruger BH in .41mag? That's a hot combo.

I have a couple of Ruger Redhawks in .41 Mag and two Smiths, a M57 and an M58. I'm leaning toward pairing the Marlin and the M58.

I saw a Ruger Blackhawk in .41 last year. I was a bit broke at the time, so had to pass. I am keeping my eye open for another one.
