I was getting a little bored with my Ruger 10/22 and decided it needed a change. After looking around a little bit, I found a guys selling a conversion kit he'd bought and barely used. Just finished it up and we are heading to the range today. Thought I'd share the final outcome. The Aimpoint came off of my M4 and I'm just seeing how it will work. It sits a little high so I'm going to look for something that sits a little lower. Maybe an ATN or BSA red dot. On a different post some had indicated to try out a Kobra site, but they run $150 or so. Maybe when I get some spare cash.

On a side note, that 50 rnd mag is not the easiest thing to load. I think I'll have to look into some kind of loader for it.

Any recommendations on a single point sling? It has a sling mount right where the swivel for the butt stock is.

IRC, this is the "Krinker Plinker"?

Cute. :D

I've been intrigued by the guy that's turning 10/22's into little WA2000 sniper rifles.

My friend painted his 50 round clip with a spray can of black engine enamel paint. Its held up good.

There's another kit that allows you to use any AR-type stock on your 10/22.

I really need to pick up a 10/22.

Just got back from the range and damn was that 10/22 a lot of fun. After I zero'd the Aimpoint, I was throwing some rapid fire down range at a couple of hanging 16oz coke bottles filled with water at 50 yrds. Once the water drained out from all the holes, I tried to see if I could cut one of them in half. Couldn't do it. Not from lack of trying though. It's just that my thumbs couldn't take manually filling that 50 rnd mag anymore. I REALLY need to get an autoloader. Any suggestions?

They make loaders for 10/22 mags, I think butler creek makes one, dump the ammo in, shake, shut the lid, put the mag in, turn the knob.

I am having trouble with my 50 rounder, did you have to do any thing to break it in or get it to work?

Hi eab, I actually bought it used here in my state as new ones are illegal in Mass. I figured I was taking a chance, but so far it's worked great without any problems.

Maybe I just got to break it in. It seems not to want to feed right. It will load the first shell but it will jam on the second shot.

Don't know....

The coolest (and nerdiest) dress up kit ever for the 10-22 is the MG42 kit.

You know, for the inner stormtrooper (StarWars) in you.
