This is a very fun round for me.
I was always of the opinion in favor of heavier slugs for hand guns.
How's this round in heavier slugs?

I've noticed most are 125 grain. I need to order in bulk.

Maine Cartridge Company had some 147gr XTP ammo for $180/1000 plus shipping in a recent Gun List.I think he let his website go,but if you can find someone on here that subscribes to Gun List, perhaps they can look up the number for you.I got some, and it seems like a relatively mild loading compared to the 125gr Georgia Arms or Accuswage, but it's very accurate,no failures at all...There's a guy on GlockTalk in the 357sig gun related forums named NitLion that has made it his mission in life to try every bulk loading he can find, look for some of his posts and see what he thinks...

I have shot a good deal of the S&B 140gr load listed above. It is very serviceable range ammo.

For my own handloads I use 147gr JHP's. I prefer them to the 125gr for range ammo.

If you believe in gel testing, Ammolab used to have test data posted for a number of 357 SIG loadings. The 125gr loads all generally had excellent penetration. The heavier loadings by Federal and Hornady had even more penetration - to a degree that some feel excessive for human targets. I use 125 gr Winchester Rangers or Speer Gold Dots for carry.
