Hello,
I recently picked up a Winchester Model 1200 as part of a lot of 13 guns at an estate sale. Looks like it is unfired. I have always shot Remington 870's, but, after getting my hands on this one I kinda like it. The only problem I have with it is that it is a 30" full choke barrel. I would really like to find a barrel set up for the winchoke or at least a modified barrel and around 26"-28". I see model 1300 barrels selling on ebay and the other auction sites and they sometimes say that they will fit some 1200's. Can I use a 1300 barrel and which 1200's do they fit?

Thanks for any imput.

I am sure its just the picture, but it almost looks to me like it has a win-choke in it. See the little notch?

Must be a reflection or something. There is no removable choke or threads in the barrel. The barrel is also marked "full".

As far as a 1300 barrel on a 1200, you can do it, they are interchangable. I have a 1200 that was made in the 60's and called Winchester a few years ago with the same question and that is what they told me. I changed my mind and kept the 18 inch "RIOT" barrel and changed the stock to a Speedfeed IV. Now I'm thinking of changing the butt stock to the Speedfeed I or II. The IV is a bit too long for my short arms. I also added a magazine extension.
