Armalite M15A2 Carbine- any good?

Anyone own one of these or shot them before? Is it a reliable gun, etc.?

I have a friend who has the M15A4 (flattop). We routinely shoot together and do classes together, so I've seen him run at least 5k rounds through it. I have been extremely impressed by it.

It runs right with my higher dollar, custom rifle in every respect - accuracy, reliability, and durability. I don't know if that is typical of Armalites; but I have a much more favorable opinion of them now.

The midlength gas system is definitely the way to go though - it was shooting his Armalite that made me a convert.
