Im looking for info about a gun i have. double barreled, damacus twist, percussion. on top between the barrrels in gold colored inlay it has G CAMPHOUSEN DE CRIEFIELD, beautiful stock carved with two hunting dogs with white doves, fore stock and trigger guard are carved as a dog head with 2 shinny eyes each. taken it to several gun shops around town to try to get info, not to sell, family brought it from germany after the war. really all i can get from people is a possible date made of some where in the 1850s. sorry post so long im new to the board and will try to get pics up. several guns i d love to discuss w you all.:banghead:

I don't have anything on this particular gun, however, it appears to be what they call a guild gun. One made by a group of people. One does the wood, one does the barrels and one does the receiver. This type of gun "Guild Gun" were mostly Drillings (three Barrel, guns) and custom made.

I've looked and looked and looked. And found zero. I did learn a lot about the textile industry and why the area was so highly industrialized. John
