I picked up a Weatherby Supreme 3x9x40 Supreme riflescope at a gunshow for $15. It is beat up externally, deep scratches that make me wonder if someone put it on a gravel road and drove over it  , but it had plastic transparent optics covers thast seem to have protected the lenses quite well. View through the scope is clear and everything works.

Since I only dropped $15 for it I won't be dissapointed if something is indeed wrong, but I am going to try it out. Is there anything particular to Weatherby scopes that I should be aware of?

Thanks.

What!? No opinions at all?!

I expected at least a campy comment about television screen-styled scopes...

Can you see Venus on that? If so share her picture. :neener:

Many years ago, I owned a Weatherby mk. V rifle with one of their 3-9x Lumiplex scopes on it. I do not know who makes their scopes, but I can tell you that it was an outstanding optic - extremely bright, sharp and clear. I was always happy with this scope.

If you got one for $15 and all that is wrong with it is that it is scraped up, you did well. You might think about calling Weatherby to see how much it would cost to send it in and have it reconditioned.

+1 for progunner1957

I used one of my uncle's Weatherby scopes about 22 years back on a Weatherby Fibermark .300 M.W. The scope was well made, clear, etc.

Check it over and if need, send it to Weatherby for repairs.

Best of luck,

I don't know which particular company made them, but Weatherby scopes were made in Germany.
