Anyone have a good grip for the Model 60? My father has gone through three grips and all of them get the webbing of his thumb-index finger. What is happening is that the grips are short and his hand extends over the top of the grip, which rubs the wrong way. A bit longer grip would be great. Any suggestions?

I have an Uncle Mike's J-frame Boot Grip which may fill his need. It extends about.... .5" - .75" below the frame, gives you some extra gripping surface.

The best chunky grip for the J-frame I've tried is the pachmayr compac. Very substantive, covers the backstrap, gives a good pinky rest.

I put a Pachmayr presentation grip meant for a square butt J-frame on my 642. I know......its a mismatch, but it fits tightly and now I can actually get a real grip on the gun. Accuracy went up accordingly. The only problem is its no longer such a great pocket gun, but I normally carry IWB anyway so thats no huge loss.

Flat, but covers the backstrap. Gives you almost the same trigger reach and control as a K frame grip. Too long for pocket carry, but they conceal as well as boot grips in any belt-mounted carry. Pricey? Yep, but you get what you pay for from this guy.

Good lord that's one of the ugliest/dumbest looking things I've ever seen!

The pic is out of proportion, but they still aren't the prettiest grips to come down the pike. Dumb? Not by a long stretch. The thing most lacking in a J frame, for a shooter with large hands, is control. These allow fast shots with 110 gr. Winchester mag ammo. They allow my triger finger to work the trigger with the edge in the first crease. Trying to use a defensive gun, without control, or buying a magnum, and downloading it to something less due to lack of control, ain't the brightest.

Another vote for the Hogue "Bantam"; if that happens
to be too small, there is a over-size grip that is made
by the same company.

Thanks for the nice note on my last cherry wood grip. The attachment is of my Fitz Duramite stag grip that has a good rough finish to be pulled from my hideout holster and not hang up on clothes like a rubber grip.

The hat I won off the commanding General of the California National Guard when I was 17 in the state big bore championships when on his team helped him beat a marine team for the first time with an issue Garand and AP ammo. The badges are my Police Weapons Instructor and my Marshals Distinguished Expert Badge that I won with the pistol shown on a police range with three bulls up and I fired the whole course rapid fire.

Good memories for this 68 year old. I have a supply of the stag grips left cheap.

Use the Uncle Mikes on mine for concealed carry. Very small and compact. Hogue makes some nice grips for the 60 if you want a larger grip, and size doesn't matter.

Better still try some from CDNN. I think these are "siles" although not marked. They are only 3.99/pair. They cover the backstrap entirely, are fingergrooved, thinner than most grips, and lighter. They are rubber gently checkered. These grips really helped with my 342PD. They other thing they helped which was unexpected, was to increase my trigger reach making the trigger much more comfortable. Heck for 3.99/pair a great bargain. Good luck www.cdnninvestments.com/rubjroungrip.html
