I may pick up another plinker for the collection. This time it is the venerable old Marlin model 99. Anyone out there have one and how good is it?

I have a Marlin 99 not the 99 a/b/c. Has 17-round tubular magazine. Still shoots great, iand t goes bang! every time.

Bought it in 1989 from a pawnshop in North Charleston, SC for $20. Cleaned it up, replaced the $10 scope with a $25 scope, and been happy ever since.
