I just bought a $60 Sportlock safe.

Does anyone know of a way to disable the beep for more stealthy opening of the safe? There must be a wire that I could cut somewhere, mustn't there?

Do you have the directions for it. As I remember some of them were setup to allow you to disable the beep. I'll have to check when I get to work.

I bought the floor model and it came with directions on how to set the code and that is all. Either that is it, or they were missing? Let me know what you find out at work!

I finally got through to the folks at sportlock today. They say that the speaker for this model is integrated into the circuit board and that it would be difficult to disable it without damaging the board. They have a model 70 something that can be programed not to beep.

If you can see/get to the board, you might be able to just tape over the hole in the little piezo speaker. That should make it much quieter and have no permanent effect on the safe.

Thanks. I think getting to the board will be difficult, but I'll take a look.
