I don't think you will find a serious target shooter with a series 80 trigger. The series 70 has fewer parts and a cleaner trigger pull.
The 80 can be "cleaned up" and most of us might not notice the difference for all types of shooting except bullseye!

I also think that you will find Colts built prior to the strike in the early '80's to be of better quality.
