Why is this wonderful, light revolver no longer in the Smith line. I picked up a 3" 317 a month ago and liked it so much I want the 337 to match. I see them on the web for about $600 but I don't see it in the Smith line anymore.
I'm guessing that they didn't sell well because they are so light and can be a pain to shoot with +P loads.
I just love the way they look and feel. That high-viz sight is so nice for my tired eyes.

I bought a 337 in 1999 and have carried it for countless hours and miles, and shot it quite a bit. It is a little more difficult to shoot well than my 36 or 60, but it's just about the perfect pocket gun. Mine came with the plain ramp sight, but I had a Big Dot sight installed and it works well. I'm sorry to hear they've been discontinued.

My guess is that the .38 Special Ti/Al guns, such as the 337 and the 342, had no real market niche left after S&W introduced the Ti/Sc equivalents in .357 Magnum. People who wanted to spend less bought the Airweights. People who wanted to pay the cost for the Airlights picked the .357 over the .38.

Thats too bad, I think the 38 is much better suited in that weight of gun than the 357.

It looks as if the model 360 has replaced the 337. Does anyone know if the 360 can be purchased with a 3" barrel and high viz sights? I would probably never shoot .357s in it because I've got a model 60 and a ruger security six to shoot the mag stuff if needed. Thanks for the help....
