I'm just starting into the reloading / handloading thing and am reloading .300 weatherby magnum. A friend is helping me out on the basics.

Any good loads that people have out there that I can start trying. Looking for a good light load for my wife to play with, as well as some good loads for Elk & Deer.

Thanks,

Kent

I just bought a Weatherby 300 Wthby mag last week and will be working up some loads but that may take a while. In the factory ammo mine seems to prefer 180 grainers. If you come up with some before I get the chance let me know.

I used to load for my 300 WBY but haven't used it in years I think I used 4831 with a 180 gr bullet. If I can remember I will look it up when I get home from work.i have it all written down.

I think you will find 4831 to be one of the best choices of powder for that cartridge. There are a few other powders that perform very well in the 300, but you will find by looking at various reloading data books that either one of the 4831's will be the most versitile. If you want to load down a little, brother 4895 will be a good choice. Chief
