Anyone know anything about the brand "Revelation". I've inherited a family gun that was my grandfathers and then my dad's and now mine (you get the picture). I've never heard anything about this brand of gun before. Just curious as to what anyone knows about this brand or particular gun.

Revelation was a Western Auto store brand for guns, ammunition, and some other stuff, like bicycles. The products were actually made by other companies, the guns mainly by Savage; the ammunition (at the time I know of) was made by Federal. If you provide the model number and/or a picture, we can probably identify the actual maker.

It is less common today, but at one time the larger chain stores (Sears, Wards, Western Auto, Belknap, Penney's) had many products made with their own brand names. This was done not only on guns but on other products as well, including radios and TV's (MW Airline), appliances (Sears Kenmore), sporting goods (Sears Ted Williams, Wards Western Field), and so on.
