What happened to .22 magnum cylinders for new bearcats? Is this available aftermarket (by boring out the cylinder)?

Those were amongst the most rare of the old bearcats and were never offered in the new. I'm sure it could be done but there were probems with the originals hence it being discontinued.

It's been several years since I've even seen a Bearcat in person. Even longer since I fired one.
I always thought the problem was the Bearcat's cylinder wasn't long enough for .22WMR.

They actually were offered in a dual-cylinder version when the New Bearcat's came out, and some were shipped. I believe the frame was lengthened slightly compared to the old model just for that purpose. I've never been able to find out why they stopped, but they did and issued a recall on the ones sent out. The one person I knew who bought one got a good laugh out of that.
