Bought a bone stock Persuader a couple of weeks ago, time to accessorize!
Got the pistol grip & heat shield from Cheaper Than Dirt. Still shopping for a light & mount. Considering a sidesaddle and ditching the stock sleeve.

TacStar side saddle is a must; I've had the slip on kind bunch up under recoil.

why the foregrip?
have you considered putting the mossberg factory GR sights on it?

why the foregrip?
I dunno. Like the look I guess. Haven't had it to the range yet though. Who knows, the foregrip may end up in "Buy, Sell, Tade"

I have a Mossy 590A1 with the bayonet lug. I have the bayonet to use but I'm hoping I don't have to go hand to hand with the BG. I don't know if there are other accessories that utilize the lug. Anyone out know more about that?

I've used that particular style foregrip before. For me, they work great, allowing for a firmer racking action. The ergos might be a little off, being matched with a straight stock, but if it works for you that way, cool. Try out a full-stock-with-PG if you get the chance.

Got it out to the range today. Only ammo I had were a bunch of dove loads (7 1/2 shot), some #5's, some 3" #6 (turkey loads) and a box of slugs. Wanted to try 00 buck but the gunshop was closed today and WallyWorld didn't have any.
Did all my shooting at 25 yards, hits point of aim but with the cylinder bore choke the pattern was a lot wider than I'm used to shooting full or modified.
Didn't have a chance to try groups with the slugs, wind started blowing about 50mph and the rain came in. Only had five of them anyway so I just blasted them at the paper. Again point of aim at 25yds. Note: front bead replaced with a Hi-Vis fiber optic.
The pistol grip forend worked fine until I tried the 3" mags. Darn near ripped my thumb off! If I were to shoot 3 inchers all the time I would put the factory forearm back on.

Put the factory forend back on. Why limit what your shotgun and you can do?

Pistol grips on either end of a shotty don't work for me, but some folks like them and do well shooting said configuration.
Tried a friend's Mossy w/3" #4Buck, and the pistol-grip front-end. Same impression as you...thought I was missing a thumb. Mr. McCracken offers sage advice "Why limit what your shotgun can do?"

Sisco,
As you probably already know, shooting lots of heavy loads, even if not 3" magnum, will tend to loosen and move most "bolt on" and "strap on" stuff you can add to a SG.
Light mounts, sidesaddles, fiber bead, buttsaddles, scope mounts, etc all moved for me after about 1000 slugs or less, depending on how hard I could crank 'em down without breaking something.
After you shoot with the accessories enough to know what you really need and want to keep on your SG, be sure to use the Lock Tight stuff (red or blue) on all threads (bolts, nuts, etc.). What remains on my SG now is tight and solid.
IMHO, Simpler is better, so keep only what you really need, unless this SG is just for show and tell.;)

The pistol grip might go but the front sight stays. My old tri-focal eyes have a hard time picking up he little bead! Used plenty of lock-tight.
A word about Mossberg customer service:
I e-mailed them the other day, my gun has a rear QD swivel stud but nothing on the front. All I wanted to know was if it was supposed to have one and if so, what type. Told them I bought it used.
Apparently it's supposed to have one and they are shipping me one free of charge.
Also if anyone's interested in changing out the front bead for something else, the thread size is 5-40. They answered that question for me too.

After I ordered a front stud for my M500, I noticed that the screw-on end to the mag tube already has one sticking out parallel with the barrel... just never noticed it at first. Your photo doesn't show one though. If you bought new, maybe its in that tan paper envelope with the PG screws?

Bruce, now that you mention it, there is a threaded hole on the barrel ring that goes over the mag tube. Wonder why I never noticed that before??
