Which Marlin .30-30 models have a straight stock?

Most Marlin 336s have curved pistol-grip stocks, but I've seen a few with straight stocks similar to the 1894s. I'm looking (casually) for a straight stocked Marlin .30-30. Anybody able to point me to a list of model numbers that would help me do a search? Thanks!

You might try posting on www.marlinowners.com, which is the font of all wisdom for Marlins.

(Well, maybe not *all* wisdom, but pretty darned close.)

I've seen straight-stocked 336RC's, 336T's, 30TK's...but I'm sure there are others.

My Marlin catalog (has the new Model XLR rifles) shows many pistol caliber and big bore rifles with straight stocks, but no 30-30.

None are straight gripped, at the moment. Various models have been offered in the past in straight grip form, but typically for limited yrs or in limited #'s. I have a 336LTS that's straight (produced for 2 yrs in late 80's). The old Marauder's were straight (60's production) and the 336T's and TS's were (60's and/or 70's mfg, IIRC). The long bbl 336 Cowboy that Marlin offered a fews years back was straight gripped, but they were never very common even while in production.

Thanks, all. This helps. I'd like to add a .30-30 to the collection. I like the Marlin's action and side eject(have an 1894S in .44 mag), but really dislike the curved pistol-gripped stocks on the current 336s. Strictly an aesthetic thing. This will help me refine my searches on GunBroker and elsewhere.

The OLD 1894's in .30-30 were straight.

My 336 has a pistol-gripped stock on it. It was made around 26 years ago, though.

:) It took me 4 years to find my 336 with a straight stock. It was made in 1975 and is about 95%. I love the look of the straight stock. They are hard to find and a joy to hold . Happy hunting!!!!

Makes me want to go ahead and get a 30-30. :)

Deer Hunter, good luck at TAMU.

Just to throw out a different view, I modified my 1895 GG to a pistol grip because I find that the PG stock handles recoil better. YMMV, of course...
