Anyone know if Glock rebuilts have new frames? If not, do they leave the serial number as is:eek:, or add a new one?

Why are there so many Glock factory rebuilds? (cause they couldn't build them right the first time:neener: )

The few that I have bought had original frames, but I suspect that if the one you are looking at was among thpse Glock is willing to replace for peace of mind, it will already be done. If so, the frame will have a 1 added to the original serial number.

Glock rebuilds are usually police trade ins. They are inspected and worn parts replaced then resold for a good price, The frame is not replaced as far as I know. The only frames being replaced that I know of are those with E series serial numbers for the frame rail upgrade(new frame).
I know the City of Miami traded their 9mm Glocks for 40 caliber Glocks. Some departments get a change in administration and the new chief or sheriff decides a different gun or caliber gets used. Cool departments trade them in. Uncool departments cost the taxpayers money and have them destroyed (as unbelievable as it sounds, it happens).

I have 2 rebuilds. Both came with second generation frames. These were purchased after 3rd generation had been out a while. I suspect they won't change the frame unless the original is in pretty bad shape.
