Bad *** CHL pictures

Here in Texas, we are permitted to provide our own picture to put on our CHL. Has anyone made an effort to make or find a picture that was especially flamboyant for their CHL? At my job, they make passport photos, so that is where I got mine done. It makes me look too much like the old, overweight curmudgeon I really am. Just wondering if anyone got creative? If so, are you willing to share your photo?

I'm glad you were smart enough to figure out that putting a space would let you get past the profanity filter  , but it was put there for a reason. I hope you edit out the stupidity, for the sake of your reputation if nothing else. By the way, you read an agreement that you signed. So, I wouldn't whine about "being censored." As I've learned, being a High Roader is a privilage, not a right. :D

Keep in mind that if you ever have to use your weapon in self defense that there is a good chance that that picture will be the one released to the media. You can look tough and mean if you want to, but for me I'm going for the most harmless expression that I can with a goofy smile (looking goofy is my specialty  ).

Point taken, Yohan. It just surprised me- I do not consider the word "a##" profane. I guess some might. And to what stupidity do you refer?

More on topic- I agree the picture should be mild mannered- I just wondered if anyone had gotten "creative".

My resident doesn't a pic, must have a pic ID though like a DL
Non res FL has a pic, it was a good pic (despite the subject matter), even being taken within the spec size and all...

By the time a pic gets edited, be it a passport, DL, student ID, employee badge, or CCW...dunno...must be someone whom is twisted in the processing, because surely the laminent can't goof up a pic that bad by itself. Just a theory

or a dress... or what?

Now theres an idea.

So what exactly are the criteria for the picture? A "Guess where Im concealing it" type thing comes to mind :uhoh:

My res. TX permit is not the best picture. I wore a hat to the permit class, and no hats allowed in the picture, so I have hat hair. I also needed a shave.

My FL permit is a bit better, actually went to Penney's and had a passport photo taken.

well my permit in VA used my VA DL for the picture ID and given that we finally get the law passed this year, I figure the MO permit will most likely use my MO DL for the picture which is one that screams BALD BALD BALD - HOPELESSLY BALD ON TOP!

*sigh* I don't know what to do about that!

note: anyone who suggests a "comb over" automatically loses 10 points! :barf:

Well I have it made. In Arizona they don't put your picture on the license. Considering my looks it's a good thing.

I used to have a non-resident permit for Pennsylvania. I had to go in to pick up the permit in person and to be photographed for the back of the permit. I never even gave any thought to what I was wearing when I went in for the photo. As a result, my permit has a picture of me wearing a black t-shirt.

Clearly visable on the permit is the white-lettering on the front of the t-shirt which says, "Doesn't Play Well With Others". :D

I look like a ex-con in mine.
The only time the thing has been out of my wallet has been on the occasion of buying another gun.

It will be worthy of chuckle ever time you show your friends.

It will be less funny upon presentation to a LEO in a real situation.

It will be FAR LESS FUNNY at a criminal or civil trial.

Think about it.

I suppose posing with a favorite firearm wouldn't be a good idea...

It is unfortunate that society has degraded to such a point that we must think of how things look in the legal arena. When we were shooting targets to qualify for our CHL, the instructor specifically warned us NOT to make any head shots, or a jury would find it distasteful if it came to that. To what depths have we sunk? Is there any hope for us?

When I got my driver's license renewed last time, I thought it would be funny to make a face when they took the picture. I was RIGHT. Everyone that looks at my pic either laughs, which was the point, or looks at me like I'm a psycho, which makes me laugh (and is therefore good).

In SC, you have to turn in 3 pics with your CWP application. I got passport photos made at Kinkos and turned them in. When I got my CWP in the mail, they had used my DL picture with the crazy eyes and ridiculously big, goofy looking smile! It looks like they gave a psycho permission to carry a firearm, and it makes me laugh every time I look at it.

No, I didn't TRY to get a "flamboyant" pic for my CWP, it just ended up that way all by itself :D

AHAdamswell my permit in VA used my VA DL for the picture ID
Umm...my Virginia permit to carry a concealed handgun has no picture. Have things changed?
