This 300RUM load workup a waste of time?

I bought some AA5744 with the idea of launching 168gr BTFMJ out of my Savage 116FSAK 300RUM at about the same speed of a typical 30-06 load hoping to see better accuracy than a typical 30-06. Is this a reasonable expectation or am I about to waste my time working up this sort of load?
