The loading gate recess on my Colt SAA is chipped at the upper area where the interlocking "step" for the gate is located. Anyone know if this little chip can be built up by welding?
I put a reproduction loading gate on, and filed it to fit without the zig-zag interlocking missing chip, for now.
Maybe, if you can blow up the pic more, you can see it clearly at the top of the loading gate. The space between the two sections goes straight now.

There apears to be traces of bluing left in the pics.
If that is original finish,I think I would leave the gun alone.

Maby its just my foxfire , but not enough resolution for me to even be able to answer ( if i would happen to have a clue )
