I am considering buying a sig 229 in 9mm in the all stainless finish(not the blackened stainless) I'am just wondering what these are going for in your area? I feel it will be a good ccw gun in the cooler months here in Florida and if I decide to carry it IWB in the summer I won't have to wrry about rust. I figure I'll go with the stainless out of the box rather than buy a blue sig and sent it out to be hard chromed.

That being said It will probably cost me more money and I don't want to wait 6-8 weeks to get the gun back. Thanks

Hello,
The all stainless P229 is actually electroless nickel plated. To my knowledge, only the P229 Sport comes in this finish today and the regular 229 can be had with an electroless nickeled slide. This is the two tone version that you can get on several of their model numbers. Sig does produce the P220 in all stainless but still makes it with the alloy frame and stainless slide as an option as well. I haven't heard of Sig making the 229 with a stainless frame but would be very interested in one if they did. When Sig was producing the all nickel 229 it was selling for around $750 dollars while the basic 229 was going for about $625. That was a few years ago though. I would guess that an all nickel used 229 in excellent condition would bring about $600 to $700. I am going to check out the Sig website to see if there are any additional options to the 229 and will report back if there are. Mike

Thanks mike and I was on the sig website and saw the all stainless model 229 when I clicked the available finishs option. So I'am guessing they still make them?

They 229 is not yet available in Stainless (frame and slide), but I believe they previewed in Germany recently. The 229 has a SS slide regardless of how it is finished.

I just checked a local gun shop on Long Island, NY and the p229 two-tone goes for $734.00 cash. The only finishes were Nitron
(all black) or the two-tone. The nitron was $684.00 cash.
