Rugers and Browning Buckmarks answer the call quite nicely.

I paid 270 for a Walther P22. Nice little pistol.

+1
These 2 pistols have been around for quite a few years. Pretty hard to beat either.

Not exactly sure on the price, but they're reasonable for the package. Adjustable sights, relatively quiet, easy operation, well balanced, full length rail for scope, red dot etc.
Pretty nice.

One more for the Ruger. Mine was $300 without the sight. You can get the standard barrel or many 22/45 models for under $300. They are very accurate and are not picky about ammo. I hear The Buckmarks are good but I don't have any experience with them. I know a few people that own Walther P22's and all of them have problems. I would stay away from them. Good luck and good shooting with whatever you decide to buy.
