I've had a Tikka Whitetail for some time now, but the scope situation for it has always been in a state of flux. The gun has the longer 695 magnum action & is in .338 Winchester magnum as well as being LHB.
I've had a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10X 50mm on it in various mounts. However the scope was stainless & the gun is wood/blue. Since my son recently aquired a stainless gun, the scope went over to it & I've had to order a new one for the Tikka. The Leupold lived in Burris mounts, which couldn't hold against the recoil, and Warne's. My only knocks on the Warne's is that they are heavy & moderately clunky looking.
I have a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10X 44mm that's now on the way. However, I was unable to get the tube dimensions from the Zeiss site. Oh well, things like this make life interesting anyway. Not to worry though, if the Zeiss simply won't fit on this gun, there's another I know it will fit on & that shooter deserves an upgrade too.
Anybody got the combo of magnum Tikka & Zeiss? What worked for you?
