C&R firearms of course!:)

Basically a C&R is anything over 50 years old, or specifically listed on the ATF C&R list. Plus, some companies like Brownells and Midway will give you dealer pricing if you send them a copy of your FFL.

And don't forget the all important 50 year rule. There are lots of nice S&W revolvers that fall into this catagory.

WHAT ARE CURIOS OR RELICS?
As set out in the regulations (27 CFR 178.11), curios or relics include firearms which are of special interest to collectors by reason of some quality other than is associated with firearms intended for sporting use or as offensive or defensive weapons. To be recognized as curios or relics, firearms must fall within one of the following categories:

1.) Firearms which were manufactured at least 50 years prior to the current date, but not including replicas thereof;
2.) Firearms which are certified by the curator of a municipal, State, or Federal museum which exhibits firearms to be curios or relics of museum interest; and
3.) Any other firearms which derive a substantial part of their monetary value from the fact that they are novel, rare, bizarre, or because of their association with some historical figure, period, or event. Proof of qualification of a particular firearm under this category may be established by evidence of present value and evidence that like firearms are not available except as collector's items, or that the value of like firearms available in ordinary commercial channels is substantially less.

I got one of the most pleasant to shoot and accurate rifles (Doug Bowser wrote a book on Victory thru accuracy using the 6.5 mm Swedish 96 rifle)

My '96 will be reloaded for and shot all day without coming home beat up

It cost $269 from a C & Rl dealer in my state who shipped it to me. All I hadda do was send him a xerox copy of the license.

My Kar 98 K Mauser made postwar with wartime-manufacture parts on Mauser machinerin in Krgrujevac Croatia is as close to a $189-$350 Wartime kar 98 K (it IS a wartime K-98K assembled in 1948) got it from century for $80.00

It's beautiful

I got a Czech 1924 Mauser VZ-24 receiver and stock from a gunsmith who rebarrelled the sewer pipe with an aftermarket 7.62 x 39 barrel and rebuilt it with the military sights and I can shoot it all day

The possibilities are endless if you have the imagination

Best $30.00 I ever spent!
