Almost like clockwork, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel routinely publishes anti-gun editorial pieces and cartoons. This was the one for this week:

Just goes to show how the Left habitually relies upon the exploitation of the tragedy. Their other favorite is the "disadvantaged" and the "children" as we all know.

I'd like to see the same cartoon and caption with a Dodge Viper represented.
Think they'd get it?

Mr. Carlson, blankety blank blank blank . . .

This is even worse than the ones in the Washington Post.

Compare Milwaukee's violent crime rate to...

This one simply screams for some creative soul with a copy of photoshop, or something, to do a series of different products in the poster.
Ball bats, ant poison, hammers, cars, large aircraft, baklavas, BBQ knives, cigarettes, beer, computers, cell phones.....
The list is endless.

Is it possible to win a libel/defamation case based on the fact that this dipdunk is apparently alleging that Bushmaster advertises its firearms as "the same model the sniper used!" and other nonsense?
Probably not, but I'd enjoy it.

As for the "cartoon". Typical leftist hysterical tripe. When you can't make your point with logic and facts, resort to lies and scare people. :barf:

Cartoons, by their very nature, are an appeal to emotion.
You can't really make a logical, reasoned argument in a drawing (unless it's a diagram - symbolic logic).
I'm not sure how much stock I put in a cartoon to change minds, but I do think they're a useful tool in reinforcing previously held beliefs. Something about visualization that short-circuits reasoning and goes directly to the emotions.

Cartoons have been effective in the past. The notoriously corrupt Boss Tweed in NYC was brought down in part because public opinion was swayed by editorial cartoons. At the time, many New Yorkers couldn't read, but they could see the cartoons.

Mark Tyson, remember too that a lot of voters in the last presidential election were swayed, not by the Washinton Post, NY Times or even The Washington Times, but by Jay Leno and David Letterman.
The exact numbers escape me right now, but something near 1/3rd of all voters said their voting choice was based at least in part by the jokes of these two comedians. Small wonder that Bush and Gore made special appearances on these shows.
If P.T. Barnum were alive today, he' be a senior campaign advisor.

Airwolf, if only the guy in that picture were wearing a carbon fiber, black, tactical MallNinja vest, I'd think it was Skunkabilly.
No offense meant Skunk.
