I am just curious as I have heard several different stories about this. I have heard that yes, they did ban guns for everyone, I have heard that they only banned the Jews from owning guns, and I have heard that they didn't ban guns at all! I was just curious to know which it was, and if there was any supportive evidence I could see that backs it up? Thank you.

It is my understanding that the Wiemar Republic passed a law in 1928 intended to track anti-government forces. The law required that all guns and all gun owners be registered.

It is noteworthy how unbelievably dangerous gun control is, and this law in particular. The law was intended to make sure that criminal organizations like the Nazi's never came to power and could never overthrow the government. The result of this law -- of comprehensive registration lists for all gun owners -- was that when the Nazi Party legally attained power, they could turn around and completely disarm their enemies. Upon seizing power they renewed the law and promptly disarmed German citizens. The rest, as they say, is history.

That is always the problem with legislation that gives too much power. Even if you want YOUR guy to have that much power, there is no telling what will happen when the guy you hate gets behind the trigger.

Yes, methinks a small amount of study on the topic of Gun Control and National Socialism will reveal that....although the Nazi's are not Good folks.....they are not as Evil as our Modern Liberal Democrats.

O.K., not all of this is true.
First of all: The anti-gvt. "militias" were mostly disbanded in 1920-1921
Second: What about the Gomel Pogrom?
Third: Before 1938, 5% of jews owned guns -while only 4.4% of Israelis own guns today.

Either you were being sarcastic or you have absolutely no grasp whatsoever of the enormity of the evil that occurred in Nazi Germany. I hope it is the former.
