Max range for 12 ga ??

My son and I have arranged to finally get onto some very vacant property to check out my new toy: a Mossberg Mod 88 12 ga with a 29" barrel. We're going to do a pattern check. Just to be on the safe side, what is the max range for ordinary birdshot and 00 buck??

#7 1/2 shot will go just under 400 yards, OO buck will go over 600 yards. A good backstop is a MUST for buckshot.
