I was offered to buy a CZ 100 in 40S&W, when I held it I saw the nice adjustable sights, but also infront of the sights there was another pair of what seemed like fixed sights? what are they sights? I figure that if you decided to take off the adjustables for conceled carry you can then aim with the other pair, is that correct?
I will also appreciated any info or feedback on this pistol.

Thank you

The parts list calls that front-most "sight-like" object a "barrel stop."

I don't understand the function well enough to explain it -- I think its a cross piece that holds in part of the firing pin stop, but I know that the shape of the top can be used to catch the slide on your clothes for one-hand functioning, if you have to rack the slide.

Its not used for sighting.

Check out the CZ-Forum for more info on the gun. The triggers are pretty bad, but do get better, and a number of folks on the forum have developed some pretty good tips to greatly improve the trigger. (I had one, but didn't learn of the improvement tips until AFTER I sold the gun.) With the changes, the triggers are supposedly pretty good. This gives you most of the advantage sof a Glock, with a much better trigger.

Note: the .40 version has a compensated barrel, and can't be used for IDPA competition.

That's not a sight. That's a (I think, my manual's in the basement and I'm too lazy and pressed for time to get it right now) "barrel stop". Basically something to that's supposed to help you rack the slide one handed. Or something. There's also some action parts underneath it that it holds in place. It's not a sight.

The adjustable sight actually looks like a (I forget the brand and model right now) moderatly pricey commercial adjustable sight.

CZ-USA should have the manual available for download. I suggest you read through that.

You can't remove the rear sight, as it retains some action parts as well. The adjustable sight is there for import points. (Same reason we can't get the SA-DA CZ-110 here in the "Land of the Sort of Free".) You can get a fixed sight blade from CZ-USA, but it doesn't fit the dovetail cut.

Feedback. Hmmm. I've had one for 3+ years, and I'm still somewhat ambivalent about it. The trigger is notorious, but it can be tamed to a great degree by judicious polishing of some of the action parts. The .40 is almost a little too much for it, but it can be tamed by a heavier Wolff recoil spring (made for one of the Glocks, I forget which at the moment). It beats up brass horribly (in my experience) unless you change out the factory spring for something heavier. Details on all of that at the CZ Forum web site.

Magazines are a bit pricey (but not outragously so. I'm used to paying a trivial ammount for Makarov magazines).

The rail is proprietary, so ignore it. You won't find anything that will fit on it, despite what the manual shows.

Ergonomically, well, I have to say it sits very well in my hand.

What was he asking for the CZ100, anyway?
