I have a Super-X2 Practical Mark1 with the 22" barrel.

However, FN has an 18" version (of the Practical Mark 2).

Has anyone tried this gun? Is it reliable like the 22"? What does it sell for? Who has it?

thanks,
Battler

I don't think it's a knockoff, it actually is an SX2 stamped FN. Don't have one yet but it, as well as the SX2 Practical, is on my list.

Just wondering. Does anyone have one of these? Ever shot one. What does it cost?

I have an SX2 Prac mark 1 (22" barrel) - an 18" barrel version seems pretty cool :)

A knock-off?

Doesn't FN own Winchester? I thought that was the case. If so, it wouldn't really be a knock-off, would it?

Thanks for the heads-up, though. I've been thinking that the Super X2 would be a great gun if it were shorter.

Conversely, does anyone know if the 22" SX2 mag tube and barrel will fit on the FN version?

I like the receiver mounted rail, but would prefer more capacity for 3gun.

As I understand it, the winchester shotguns are all FNs, not the other way around.

Winchester Guns
FN Manufacturing USA

Same thing if you buy a Mazda / Volvo / Jaguar / Aston Martin / Range Rover / Lincoln / Mercury... they are all owned / made by Ford Motor Company.

Thats why I laugh when some one says the Winchester shotguns are no good, but buy a Browning...

BTW Winchester Defender 1300 just turned 7 months old and now no failures on 16,000 12gauge shells.

I think the only thing "Winchester" actually makes anymore is ammo. Winchester guns is owned by USRAC, which is owned by Herstal.

Browning has been partnered with FN for decades. Hence Belgian made hi-powers.

I saw and held the pump version yesterday at a local gunshop. Priced under 500.00 and looks great. I didnt see the semi-auto version.

It just seems a shame that guns with such a rich history and heritage as Browning & Winchester are no longer made by US owned companies.

Would I refuse to own a Browning or Winchester? No, they are still fine weapons. As I recall from my [somewhat] wasted youth, some of the A-5 Browning shotguns were Belgian-made, and were quite highly prized by their owners.

Were the Belgian-made A-5's any better than the US made ones? Can't say, but those were perceived to be better.
